Landing String

The landing string is a heavy wall drill pipe (0.500" wall or greater) and is used in many instances where regular drill pipe does not have sufficient tensile strength. Manufactured from the same grade of steel, the tensile rating directly correlates to the wall thickness. The most common application for landing string is to enable the lifting and lowering of long, heavy casing strings used in deepwater wells.
